We’re a digital bank - having earned our full UK banking licence in 2018 - but we’re also a fintech, creating leading edge tech alongside key partners and our own core banking platform, Yobota. This tech is not only used to support our own growth, but also to enable other businesses to flourish in the financial services space, through our Banking as a Service offering.
At Chetwood, our business model is different to most traditional banks. We focus on distinct customer segments that are underserved by the market, creating innovative products to meet their needs. We do this through different brands, not one, because what works for one customer isn’t necessarily right for all customers. Our current portfolio of consumer products cover a broad range of financial products including deposits (SmartSave), lending (LiveLend & BetterBorrow) and cards (Wave). All of the products we create are highly targeted and are designed to make people better off.
Our technology platform operates under the Yobota brand, and it’s this that underpins our Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) proposition. Our BaaS service is available to other businesses looking to offer their customers access to financial products. It’s a full-service offering, covering everything from proposition design and market research, the banking licence and balance sheet to the underlying tech platform that drives it all. Available as a ‘pick and mix’ menu of services, businesses choose us because of our flexibility and expertise.

**Role Purpose**
We are looking for a highly skilled individual with sales experience to lead the BaaS and SaaS team. The role is broad, entailing everything from prospecting to finding new opportunities, developing detailed business cases, creating and leading sales pitches, as well as engaging with Chetwood’s ExCo team to agree the opportunities we will pursue.
You will also have ownership of the management and enhancement of all BaaS and SaaS relationships once they have been secured. Proposition development forms a core part of the role, developing high-level customer concepts to bring to life how BaaS / SaaS could transform a prospective partner's business.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the sales team to identify new opportunities using a range of
prospecting approaches including LinkedIn research, leveraging key
partnerships and your own network.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to define a plan to
marketing, blogs, podcasts and interviews.
- Oversee the management of the leads pipeline, clearly tracking the status and
next steps for each opportunity.
- Lead introductory meetings with prospective partners to understand their
needs and share more about our offering.
- Ensure lead qualification processes are being completed, including high level
commercial sizing, so that the team’s time is focussed on the most feasible
and commercially significant opportunities.
- Create customer concepts to bring to life the customer and commercial
opportunity or prospective partner’s businesses.
- Create and prepare pitch materials outlining these concepts, working closely
with Future Kings our brand agency, as well as our internal Chetwood UX
team.
- Create detailed business cases and commercial models and ratify these with
ExCo, prior to sharing with partners.
- Work with the technology team to estimate high level delivery effort, costs
and timescales. For secured opportunities, work with the tech teams to
schedule the work, both initially and for any future improvements.
- Write proposals summarising the opportunity, proposed approach,
commercials and next steps.
- Be the lead on all formal vendor selection processes, including preparing and
submitting the bid, partner presentations and beyond.
- Lead on commercial and contractual discussions with partners, working
closely with our legal team.
- Responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with partners on an
ongoing basis.
- For contracts that include proposition definition, create statements of work
clearly articulating the deliverables and our proposed approach for delivering
these.
- Lead the full end to end proposition development process from concept
ideation to having MVP requirements established, creating a detailed plan
covering all aspects of the proposition development process.
