We have created a new and exciting role in our team for an enthusiastic and proactive Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Practitioner. You should have significant prior experience working with children with Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN), preferably in an educational setting.

You will have the opportunity to work with children at The Speech Den, in schools and in their own homes. This role involves working directly with children with speech and / or communication difficulties. It will involve carrying out assessments and therapy programmes and making resources to enable children to communicate.

**Main duties of the job**

The successful applicant will join our well-established Speech and Language Therapy team, working alongside experienced Speech and Language Therapists, school/preschool teams both in schools and at the Speech Den. You will be supported to develop relevant competencies and you will receive on the job training. We are looking for an individual who is motivated with their development, enthusiastic and flexible in their approach to work. You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and be able to motivate children. You will have knowledge and experience of supporting neuro divergent children in a strengths-based, affirming way. The responsibilities include creating a variety of resources for all the Speech Den team and providing admin support the the Lead SLT

**Salary**:£19,000 - £24,000
**Annual Leave Allowance**:30 days (plus Bank Holidays)
**Location**:The Speech Den (21 Oldfield Crescent / local schools / early years settings / Clients Homes)
**Accountable To**:Cathy Shilling, Consultant / Speech & Language Therapist

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: £19,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
