To contribute to information gathering and assessment process through observation and joint evaluation of a child’s response to speech and language intervention
- To participate in training of teaching staff, parents and other professionals as required.
- To deliver therapy treatment programmes as designed by the therapists without direct supervision, but with appropriate instruction and monitoring.
- To record personally generated clinical observations and provide feedback to the supervising Speech and Language Therapist.
- To prepare therapy materials and bespoke IT generated communication resources to meet speech and language targets identified by the Speech and Language Therapist.
- To undertake as directed administrative tasks, e.g. scanning, photocopying, filing, registration of patients, co-ordinating appointments and arranging clinic appointments.

Gloucestershire has a large team of Speech and Language Therapist and there will be opportunities for joint working across the team and with other services in the integrated directorate. We hold regular whole team meetings which include CPD sessions in a range of clinical areas. On top of this, therapists meet within smaller working parties when appropriate and we hold group supervisions for clinic and schools work. Though there will be some lone working, there are shared bases where therapists can meet and work together.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
