We work across early years settings, primary schools, and secondary schools, providing essential support to students with a variety of speech, language, and communication needs. We have had a number of new contracts within our service requiring additional roles.
Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapists (Band 6/7 depending on experience) to join our team. The successful candidates will work across a range of educational and therapy settings, delivering high-quality assessment, and support to children and young people. Your caseload will be interesting and varied, including opportunities to collaborate closely with families, teachers, and support staff. You'll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team that values creativity, autonomy, and professional growth. There will be a requirement to develop and implement individualised plans that impact on the communication abilities of the children and young people we support. The role is for 4 days per week term time only, however additional days or reduced number of working days would be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and communication needs that are holistic and demonstrate collaboration with families and professionals.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate effectiveness of support programmes for children and young people in early years, primary, and secondary settings.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the development of speech, language and communication skills.
- Provide training and advice to early years, school staff and parents.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to professional standards and guidelines.
- Shape and develop neurodiversity-affirming practice within your schools
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of service-wide initiatives, including but not exclusive to training packages.
- Depending on experience/band offer supervision to other members of the team

Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children and young people across different age groups and educational settings.
- Specialist skills and knowledge of supporting Neuro Diverse children and young people, including assessment, and support skills.
- Have knowledge (or an interest in developing knowledge) of Gestalt Language Processors (GLP)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Experience in delivering training and workshops to educators and parents.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.
- Experience in a secondary school-based setting.
- Experience supporting Gestalt Language Processors
- Member of relevant CEN
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
