Salary - £21,730 to 23,177

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and established multidisciplinary team.

The team is responsible for rehabilitation of stroke patients across Gloucestershire and consists of therapists, rehabilitation assistants, stroke co-ordinators and psychologists. This service is to enable patients to leave hospital at an earlier opportunity and therapy focuses on maximising independence and aiding adjustment to life after stroke.

The role involves working closely with specialist therapists (Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists) delivering an agreed rehabilitation and care programme to stroke patients within the community setting.

We are looking for confident, experienced and flexible individuals with a healthcare background or rehabilitation assistants who wish to expand and consolidate their rehabilitation skills and contribute to the stroke pathway.

Rehabilitation and care will be provided by post holders over a 7 day period, with occasional requirement to work up until 8pm, as well as weekends/bank holidays with a rota system in operation. Enhancements will be paid for weekends and bank holidays.

The team will provide a supportive working environment with personal development opportunities.

As a rehabilitation assistant you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not. You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards.
