If you would like to talk to someone about the types of opportunities we have, or have any other questions, please contact. **Main Function** To take a lead role with the team to provide care and support appropriate to the needs of the individual child or young person.To provide this care and support in the residential setting, the community and the home.To plan and implement activities tomeet the individual needs and aspirations of the young people.To ensure the highest quality of service delivery. **Main Duties**- To promote work that meets CrossReach’s and National Standards. - To promote the aims and objectives of the service. - To take lead role within a team: - To assist Team Leaders - To take responsibility for Unit in absence of Team Leader/Service Leader - To ensure care plans are carried out - To ensure a high quality of service is delivered - To co-ordinate the staff team - To support the staff team - To take responsibility for ordering, safe-keeping and administration of medication - To take responsibility for money kept within Unit safe - To assist Team Leader in planning of staff duties - To assist staff in Personal, Professional Development programme - To model good Social Care Practice. - To be involved in the general day to day care and support of the children. - To act as keyworker to identified children and contribute to the setting up, carrying out and reviewing of care plans. - To represent the service at reviews and other relevant meetings. - To participate in regular supervision. - To carry out agreed behaviour support strategy plans. - To promote effective communication. - To support the families and carers of the children and young people. - To promote social inclusion initiatives. - To empower children to access local services and leisure opportunities. - To contribute to the strategic development of the service. - To undertake a flexible pattern of shifts. - To undertake other duties as directed by the Team Leader/Unit Manager to meet the needs of children and the aims of the Unit. - To undertake training to meet development needs. - To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading. **Qualifications** **Desirable**: Qualified to HNC level and SVQ3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or be committed to gaining these qualifications. **Personal** An interest in working with children and young people who have disabilities, some of which can lead to challenging behaviour. This post requires you to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration. **Skills and Abilities** **Essential**: - Postholder must possess basic computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office and the internet. - Previous Experience working with children. - Previous experience in Learning Disability.Previous experience of managing/working with Challenging Behaviour.
