**Rethink Mental Illness are hiring Support Workers to join our inspiring and friendly Sheffield Outreach Service team.**

24 hours per week - Part-time opportunity available

Sheffield Outreach Service provides support to adults living with mental health problems in their own homes and around the community of Sheffield. Support is delivered according to a person-centred and collaborative care plan, and individualised to each client. This can be short-term focused support, up to longer-term to provide ongoing support.

**Overview of a Mental Health Support Worker role**:
Mental Health Recovery Workers support individuals on a 1:1 basis to work towards recovery and promote independence, by setting goals and providing both practical and emotional support.

Workers provide emotional support to manage and maintain mental wellbeing. Examples of practical support may include accessing the community, using public transport, support to arrange and attend appointments, manage housing, support to access community groups and resources, manage and improve nutrition.

**Essential experience, skills required for this role**:

- I have transferable life/work experience
- I am a good listener, empathetic, understanding, kind, patient and willing to learn.
- I can demonstrate behaviours consistent with the values of the Charity.
- I may also have, experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
