**Job overview**:
We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Clinical Lead Dietitian to support the development of the Children and Young People Eating Disorders service in Nottingham Children's Hospital at NUH, QMC campus.

Minimum part time hours of 0.6wte or above will be considered.

You will be embedded in the established Childrens Dietetic department working closely alongside the paediatricians and liaising with Nottinghamshire CAMHS specialist eating disorders MDT to support the nutritional management of Eating Disorders in CYP, including the risks to their physical health and mental health.

You will have a mixed caseload of both In-patient and Out-patients to prevent unnecessary admission and minimise readmission, and your role will be to also help develop the service offered from the Dietitian.

You will benefit from training, regular supervision and support from specialists in Eating Disorders care as well as the wider Allied Health Professional and Children’s Hospital Team

**Main duties of the job**:
You will be an expert clinical advisor within Paediatric Eating Disorders and will provide assessment and advice/treatment to Children, Young people and their families

You will have an understanding of how to manage an eating disorder in the context of a paediatric ward and the catering opportunities /limitations,

You will support the young person whilst challenging the eating disorder thoughts and behaviours

You will safely provide care within the correct legal framework and allow CYP to participate in their own care as far as they are able

You will provide education and training and will liaise closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

You will be part of the Children's Dietetic team and will support the wider team as required.

The Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus and is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). We provide In-patient and out-patient care for children up to the age of 19 years old.

With 97 beds, we care for around 40,000 children each year from Nottinghamshire and beyond, treating a full range of conditions, including planned and emergency treatment and surgery, Burns and Plastics, Neurological conditions, Oncology, Paediatric critical care, Renal conditions and transplantation, and Spinal and Orthopaedic care.

The Children’s Therapy team at NCH is a friendly and supportive department who work closely alongside the wider MDT, providing excellent evidence based care and innovative ways of working.

Throughout NUH we have a diverse range of AHP and support staff who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to supported by our Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
