Orchard Professional Solutions Ltd are pleased to be working with a local producer who are looking to recruit an Engineering, Capital and Projects Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis.

As a buyer in this role, you will play a key part in supporting the development of suppliers to drive improved performance and reduce costs whilst ensuring all risks are managed and projects are delivered within time targets and budgets. You will also be responsible for supporting all Capital and Engineering projects in line with Procurement policies and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**

As an Engineering, Capital and Projects Buyer you will be responsible for supporting the Engineering and Operations department with tenders, sourcing plans, suppler audits and managing supplier relationship for multiple Engineering projects.

**Other responsibilities will include;**
- Develop, implement and embed the procurement strategy for engineering projects and maintenance events
- Work alongside the Procurement Manager to embed the overall procurement strategy and implanting policies & procedures
- Take full control of and own the procurement cycle for the category from sourcing and negotiating to execution and delivery
- Develop and manage supplier relationships to reduce procurement risks and drive value
- Ensure visibility of the procurement function across the business, develop inter-functional relationships with key stakeholders
- Provide leadership on sourcing, contracting and supplier performance
- Monitoring of suppler performance through regular reviews and provide constructive feedback with attention to ensure corrective actions are followed
- Maintain and monitor approved supplier lists and support lists and support engineering spend category
- Responsible for the accurate and timely capture of all procurement contract in the ERP system
- Develop and report clear KPIs for supplier performance and value generation

**Skills and Experience Required**
- 10 + years’ relevant procurement experience inclusive if inclusive of taking sole responsibility for deliveries
- Experience of independently leading procurement activities and managing complex projects
- Experience of identifying and executing procurement strategies and adapting to business / market changes
- Experience of managing supplier performance
- Experience of competitive bidding, contract negotiation, execution and management
- Experience in a relating industry
- MCIPs qualified and/ or degree qualified
