**Senior Buyer/Team Leader**

The Senior Buyer will lead the procurement team, overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of medical supplies. They will lead a team of lead buyers and junior buyers, and work closely with key stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, deep industry knowledge, and exceptional negotiation skills. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

The hours of work are: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5:30pm

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and quality assurance, to align procurement activities with organizational needs.
- Oversee the negotiation of complex contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.
- Monitor market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes to anticipate potential risks and develop contingency plans.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular performance evaluations and managing supplier performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead supplier evaluation and selection processes, including conducting audits, assessing capabilities, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Analyse procurement data and metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and present reports to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement operations.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic procurement, vendor management, and leadership.
- Proven track record of successfully leading procurement initiatives and achieving cost savings.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, industry trends, and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
