Digital Health & Care Wales is looking for an experienced and professional Head of Service Desk to lead an award-winning NHS Service Desk function.
The DHCW Service Desk provide end user IT support to approximately 16,500 users across 500+ locations throughout Wales. In addition to this the Service Desk provides a point of escalation for all NHS Wales Service Desk teams across Wales in support of over 100 national IT Services.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead in the development and delivery of the strategy and vision for the DHCW Service Desk. The role will involve working closely at a strategic level with internal and external leads, and with customer representatives and key stakeholders throughout the NHS and wider public sector. The Head of Service Desk will promote the ‘Voice of the Service Desk’ both inside and outside the organisation and be a key influencer in the development of the DHCW Service Catalogue. The postholder will have considerable experience in successfully implementing service management processes at an enterprise level. The ability to implement strategic change is an essential part of the role.
**The postholders main duties include**:
- Staff management and leadership of a team of approximately 50 staff
- Close working and collaboration with senior stakeholders within DHCW and across NHS Wales and the wider public sector, to ensure the successful development and delivery of DHCW services
- Fostering a culture of service improvement and delivering value to NHS Wales
- Management of a multimillion-pound budget
- Ensuring that organisational standards are met and maintained
- Work as part of an on-call management rota covering a 24/7 service
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
