We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Communications Officer to join our busy communications team at Digital Health and Care Wales.
Able to hit the ground running, you’ll be involved in internal and external communications, content development, social media, events and website management. You’ll be adept at writing engaging copy for all communications channels and understand the value of developing rich content by using video, audio, photography and animation.
Creativity and the ability to convey messages in a clear and engaging way are essential.
Every day will be different and you will work with a wide range of people including patients and public, health and care professionals, technology professionals, government, industry and academia.

As a Senior Communications Officer you will be at the heart of helping Digital Health and Care explain its work and its impact, developing key messages and engaging content to reach our stakeholders and target audiences. You will have the experience to know the best approach to meet your brief and objectives and to ensure that our brand is recognised as part of the NHS Wales family.
Work will be across the full range of communications channels to ensure we effectively explain the importance of digital and data to the transformation of health and care in Wales. This will include internal and external projects and campaigns.
As digital and data services for health and care continue to grow, we are expanding the Communications Team to ensure we can continue to communicate and engage effectively with our audiences.
The Communications Team has wide-ranging responsibilities that includes support for the Board and the organisation’s extensive portfolio of programmes and operation services. This involves collaboration with both internal and external colleagues as we move towards the development of a business partner model.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This is a new and permanent role within our central Communications Team, reporting to the Assistant Head of Communications.
**You will be responsible for**:
- Developing a wide range of written content
- Producing or managing the production of video and audio clips
- Supporting development of the Digital Health and Care Wales website
- Supporting development and management of content on the internal SharePoint website
- Liaising with individual programmes and projects to provide communications advice and support
- Communications campaigns and planning
- Providing input to proactive media activities, include the preparation of media releases
- Supporting events and exhibitions
- Producing case studies
- Producing news stories
- Internal Communications
It goes without saying the excellent writing skills are at the core of daily activities, alongside the ability to gather complex information and to translate into clear understandable messages.
The post requires a breadth of communication skills that includes corporate and product-driven campaigns, web and digital content to include video and audio and a keen interest in the use of digital and data across health and care.
