**Key Tasks and responsibilities**
THE are looking for a full time Product Owner to own the methodology and delivery of the Interdisciplinary Science Research, Reputation and China Subject Ratings and potential associated products
**Key role responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)**:
- Liaising with the Chief Data Officer or Sponsor on the conceptual methodology of the ranking
- Understanding the needs of universities in ranking systems, and knowledge of the relative strengths and weaknesses of competitive rankings
- Good working knowledge of higher education
- Ownership of the detailed methodology.
- Accurate and comprehensive documentation for the proposed methodology and solution
- Collaboration with Data Science on the ongoing improvements in methodology
- Responsible for the creation and improvement of ISR data collection portal and China Subject Ratings collection portal
- Oversee the implementation of the assessment processes across the data validation team.
- Ensuring the quality, validity and applicability of the data collected.
- Assist where necessary the data science team regarding the statistical QA of the data received.
- Ongoing improvements in processes, approach, QA.
- Liaising with other areas within the Data team, including project management, data scientists, data editors, and submission management.
- Liaising with other team such as Sales, Consulting, Editorial on the methodology and results
- Ensuring an effective interface with third party providers of information and auditors
- Presenting ISR, CSR and Reputation methodology and results to our customers and at our events
- Managing customer enquiries regarding methodology and results, passing to data science, sales and consulting as necessary.
- Leading any troubleshooting related to the ranking, utilising other team members where necessary.
- Managing the release process.
- Managing the corrections process.
- Contribute to building the reputation of the rankings and THE as a whole.
**Education and experience requirements**
- You will be able to demonstrate the aptitude and attitude to take responsibility for successful delivery of the Impact Ranking.
- You will be an excellent communicator, negotiator and influencer: the role involves close collaboration with external customers and key business stakeholders, product managers, data scientists, software and infrastructure engineers and commercial teams.
- You will also be comfortable with reporting at an executive level as the role will involve frequent senior management progress / milestone reporting updates.
- You will be highly motivated, delivery focussed, pragmatic and have an open and honest approach. Able to work both at a detail and strategic level as and when required.
- Knowledge of data analysis using tools such as RDBMS, SQL, Excel, etc an advantage but not a barrier.
- Professional experience in higher education and rankings is desirable although not mandatory.
- Foreign language skills desirable
- Degree level education desirable
