Permanent full time position reporting to Technical Manager
- This role will be responsible for assisting customers with quality improvement initiatives
- Quality assurance aims to ensure that the product or service an organisation provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements including legal compliance and customer expectations. The Technical Manager coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards.
- Technical Assistant will update, maintain, and monitor documentation and advise on the performance of the quality management system.
- Technical Assistance will update and manage supplier approval along with the Technical Manager
- Demonstrates keen eye for detail and exceptional quality standards.
- Since maintaining quality demands adaption to customer expectations, Technical Assistant employ a variety of measures to place quality at the heart of an organisation. These include management systems such as HACCP and The Food Safety Quality Manual.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Role Specific_
- Support quality audits with the Technical Manager
- Verifying that product quality meets customer specifications
- Supporting QA team to meet their objectives and ensuring that targets and specifications are achieved
- Completing customers / suppliers’ specifications and questionnaires
- To complete internal audits against the internal audit as schedule
- To ensure that metal detector and weight checkers are being set up online and calibrated.
- Carrying out product labelling requirements against the food labelling guidelines.
- Completing customers online data base as per customers’ requirements
- Carry out scheduled / un-scheduled GMP audits and raise NCR if required and update GMP / GMP log
- Support the sites pest management systems
- Complete, monitor and manage the sites on line systems and platforms
- Working with Production Managers to ensure audit compliance
- To work with the hygiene and technical team to ensure that food production hygiene standards are achieved
- Investigate Root Cause Analysis and implement customer Corrective and preventative action when responding to customer complaints
- Coordinate with Technical team for annual BRC audits and customer audits as required by management
- Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
- Collating and analysing performance data and charts against defined parameters
- Completing a calibration log with an updated list of calibrated machinery and location
- Managing the calibration of all equipment (scales, metal detectors etc) in the factory and organising the engineers to come to stie to complete any scheduled calibrations.
- Liaising with customers auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance customers specifications
- Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures
- Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues
- Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
- Supporting in all areas of the technical team as required.
- Experience and Skills Required_
- Experience working in similar role preferably within poultry industry
- Ability to talk to customers in a professional manner
- Good interpersonal skills, leadership and management skills
- To work as part of team with colleagues
- Good time management and organisational skills meeting deadlines as required
- Ability to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable courses of action
- Good IT skills including Word and Excel
- Self driven and seeking professional growth

**Salary**: £11.55 per hour
