Network Rail Anglia have an exciting opportunity as the Head of Planning & Performance. Working as part of the senior business leadership team, you'll be responsible for contributing to influencing and developing access planning, performance management and timetable development activity on a timeline from two years out all the way to delivery.

**What to expect?**

If you are passionate about developing and delivering the routes operational and performance improvement programme strategies, this could be the role for you. You'll need to have both planning and delivery experience to coordinate all aspects of the integrated plan, to drive the business forward, whilst considering risks, opportunities and efficiencies throughout. Maintaining customer and partner relationships are an important part of this role, with delivery dependent to close collaboration inside and outside of Network Rail.

**About the role (External)**:
**Responsibilities expected from within this role**:

- Steer the enhancement and implementation of an Integrated Plan across the Route business to meet Route targets and outputs. Act as the senior leadership focus for the Route to validate all elements of the Plan to enable the delivery of wider business requirements.
- Lead and inform the performance teams, including the development and delivery of the route train performance strategy through accurate performance data capture, analysis and improvement programmes. Work across all Network Rail functions and external interfaces to improve the opportunities and the success of overall train performance.
- Lead and guide the timetable planning and access planning teams to improve operational performance and successfully implement operators' aspirations for increased business through finding opportunities to minimise access disruption, minimise customer/ regional impact and maximise value.
- Develop the planning organisation to improve the day to day access and control and lead the programme development specific to core access and maintenance strategies.
- Lead the improvement of a planning operational model from engineering access strategy through to night delivery to promote lean-planning processes across Anglia's operation.
- Lead and advise the development of a data lead, analytical performance team building capability to coordinate high volume complex data and analytics through to management information for the business and operation.
- Handle all operational and performance reporting and governance across Anglia.
***We are looking for someone who can meet the following essential criteria**:

- Previous experience in a leadership role with a strong customer focus and ability to work to tight timescales
- In depth knowledge of rail industry performance processes, regimes and procedures
- Confirmed ability to influence cross functional and cross company relationships including a validated ability to think strategically and communicate effectively
- Successful experience of delivering successful programmes, incorporating programme governance using appropriate techniques and controls and communications
- Understanding of Network Code and Track Access Conditions
- Holds a strong commercial focus skills and be financially astute
- Able to demonstrate high numeracy and analytical skills
