**The Opportunity**

We implemented the Solution Group organisational model within P&PS in 2020. We have been reflecting on both the tremendous successes of this transformation and evaluating how we could organise ourselves more smartly to align with the Transportation mission, Jacobs company strategy, Market and Client Account growth strategies, and our investments in: Delivery 4.0; transforming the customer; and decarbonisation.

The Planning Manager(s) are key roles on any project. As we move forward in a new agile world both for us and our clients we need to develop and adapt our ways of working to ensure we can continue to provide a Best-in-Class service. Jacobs are looking for a Head of Planning who will lead and manage the programme and planning team in the provision of technical consultancy services to major clients across multiples sectors delivering a range of multi-disciplinary projects.

You will play a key role in the development of the team adopting new technologies, strategies, and tools to deliver our projects. **Responsibilities**
- Establish project schedules as the norm on all P&PS Projects. Working towards Primavera P6 being the standard platform for scheduling, and where not appropriate working with Portfolio and project leads to agree alternatives where P6 is agreed to be unsuitable.
- Liaise with other Project Services Heads of Discipline, Portfolio Leads, Project Managers and peers in other OUs to bring together “best in class” solutions from across the Jacobs business and external sources.
- Lead and grow the Planning team to provide the level of service required in P&PS.
- Provide training and mentorship to develop your team’s skills to allow them to provide clear, accurate project schedules that will naturally feed into data analytics.
- Providing direct support to projects and Project Managers
- Actively work with other Operating Units to develop standard ways of work through established Communities of Practice.
- Working closely with the Head of Performance Management you will develop tools and working methods to ensure smooth flow of information between all data sources as part of the new data analysis approach.
- Proactively work to deliver consistent reporting processes inside P&PS projects and ensure that key messages are effectively communicated.
- Develop standard Earned Value procedures, and where necessary, work with Project teams to develop bespoke procedures where contract requirements deem necessary.

- Experience of how linear and non-linear infrastructure project designs are successfully planned, segmented and designed by complex multi-discipline teams leveraging the right tools and procedures and processes. With an understanding of the markets within the Transportation Operating Unit including how transportation projects are procured, commissioned, delivered, and handed over.
