Head of Academic Planning (0.6fte)
Salary from £53,949 to £62,160 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £69,073 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro-rata to 0.6fte)
This is a fixed term appointment until December 2027 and is part time at 0.6fte.
This role is also available as a secondment opportunity for internal staff.

Working closely in partnership with the Associate Dean (Education), the postholder will manage the teaching planning and workload allocation processes for academic staff in the Law School to ensure high-quality teaching and student experience. Advising at a strategic level, the post-holder helps to align teaching strengths with teaching delivery needs, ensuring equity and transparency in workload allocation. The post-holder is responsible for the process of recruiting and managing a wide range of Guest teacher and Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), as well as owning the processes for considering sabbatical and other types of leave. Through line management of a small team, the post-holder oversees processes for the recruitment of academic staff and visiting appointments to the Law School.
Candidates must have extensive administrative experience in higher education and proven experience in academic planning, workload allocation models, resource management, or similar processes. Experience of analysing and interpreting complex data is essential, as is experience of preparing high-quality reports, data, and recommendations to support decision-making. Very strong attention to detail is essential, together with a willingness to experiment with and learn new technologies to improve services. Experience in staff management and budget management, is desirable.
