**Contract**:Permanent and 37.5 hours per week

**Salary - **£26,000-28,000 depending on experience and skills

**About the Role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Patient Access Officer to join our Self-Pay and Reporting team at the Wellington Hospital. Working within our Patient Access team, you will provide support and supervision to all staff within the team to ensure a comprehensive range of administrative services to patients, consultants and other third parties are carried out to meet the exemplary standards expected of the organization whilst performing Patient Access Officer duties.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- To understand and promote all available services on offer from The Wellington Hospital.
- To be able to provide verbal and written self-pay quotations for all services at The Wellington Hospital.
- To produce self-pay quotes, ensuring all enquiries are responded to within 24 hours of receipt (72 hours for complex enquiries)
- Accurately record all quotations
- To manage unbilled revenue, shortfalls and patient administration reports
- To audit all patient accounts post discharge, to ensure all charges have been captured.
- To check accounts for ready to bill (Valid Authorisation for Procedure, Length of Stay & Level of Care, Account Type, Correct Procedure Charged & Abstracted)
- To work through on hold accounts making sure queries are answered and accounts are all actioned and off hold within 30 days
- To liaise with governance team regarding on hold complaint accounts to ensure

**Skills and Experience**:

- Previous experience within a similar role in healthcare is essential
- Previous supervisory/ management experience is essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent Numeracy skills
- Computer literate
