**Days / Hours: (Earliest start 10.00am / latest finish 2.00pm - except Sat 6pm latest finish)**

**Shifts to be worked over 7 days (Mon - Sun)**

**Hours (25 per week) to be shared between team of 3 or 4 staff**

**R.O.P: £11.83 per hr**

**Duties**:
To provide Personal Care assistance, Social Support and companionship to a gentleman who lives with Spina Bifida and is a bilateral amputee and is now wheelchair dependent as a result. He lives in his own accommodation in the Kilwinning area. He is a very private individual and as the support provided will be mainly in his own home, confidentiality is of utmost importance.

He is looking to employ a small team of Personal Assistants to support him on a daily basis.

Support is required each morning with personal care including showering, dressing, breakfast preparation and medication prompting. Essential hygiene housework and food preparation / batch cooking will also form part of the role.

Support will also be required to assist him to attend GP appointments and for Social outings including going to the cinema, going shopping in Glasgow (on public transport), going to meetings or out for lunch / coffee.

Earliest start would be 10.00am / latest finish on weekdays will be 2.00pm. Longer shifts may be required on Saturdays with latest finish being 6pm

He is looking for applicants who are friendly, outgoing, patient and genuinely interested in supporting him to maintain his independence.

Experience of working with clients with Physical Disabilities is desirable but not essential. It is hoped that one or more of the team will be a driver, with current clean drivers licence, use of own car and business insurance. Wage rate incorporates travel allowance however mileage costs will be covered if traveling any distance for work related purposes.

The successful applicants will have to undergo a new PVG Disclosure, at the employer’s expense and supply 2 reference contacts prior to appointment.

There is a 6-month probationary period attached to these posts with 1 weeks’ notice within that time if the post does not work out.
