**FULBRIDGE ACADEMY JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Job Title**: Site Officer
**Responsible To**: Site Manager
**Grade**: 5
**Working Hours**:
37 hours, varying shifts to cover the open (6.00am) and close (5.30pm) of site
Monday - Friday
**Main Responsibilities**:
- To ensure the heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated, make adjustments as necessary and report defects and malfunctions to the Site Manager.
- To be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises and its contents in accordance with the Academy's current requirements. Opening and locking up of the Academy including lights and internal doors.
- To arrange to clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps etc. and clean up spillages as required.
- To ensure that gullies, drains etc. are kept free from debris and that the Academy and grounds are litter free.
- To be responsible for ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access to the Academy particularly in adverse weather conditions (e.g. clearing snow, gritting etc.)
- To dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection as required.
- To undertake duties as directed by the Site Manager as outlined below:
- Painting and Decorating - as required
- Joinery
- First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples: tightening screws on window hinges, general maintenance, minor repairs as a temporary measure after break-ins, vandalism etc.
- Plumbing
- unblocking sinks, traps and waste pipes. Adjustment and rewashering of taps.
- Internal Glazing - Remedial action after break-ins, for example boarding up of broken windows.
- Making of furniture as required as well as transporting and dismantling of furniture as required.
- To carry out grass cutting on the site mower and some grounds maintenance as well as plant, tree, hedge and bush maintenance around the grounds of both sites.
- To complete routine maintenance and servicing in line with the management of public buildings, to include; water testing, fire alarm tests, emergency lighting and PAT testing.
- Use of school vehicles to carry out any collections.
- To support with and control the provision to replenish toiletry items, including requisition, storage and distribution of such items.
- To monitor stock levels of consumable items such as fuel, grit, toiletries, light, bulbs/tubes and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures.
- To report emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric and water supply to the Site Manager, or where not immediately available technical services or regular contractors, and report minor faults on site to the Site Manager.
- To attend to, where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as suppliers, deliveries and contractors.
- To organise and undertake on a pre-planned basis the stripping, sealing and polishing of floors, washing of walls and cleaning of furniture.
- To clean the external and internal face of external windows and other internal glass within the limitations of safe working practice.
- To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and Academy policies and carry out weekly fire alarm tests, and assist with evacuation procedures.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
**Supporting the School**
- Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures, e.g. child protection, internet safety, health,
- safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with other staff, parents and carers.
- Attend relevant meetings as required.
**Variation Clause**:
1. This is a description of the job as it is constituted at the date shown. It is the practice of the school to examine job descriptions periodically, update them and ensure that they relate to the job performed, or to incorporate any proposed changes consistent with funding. This procedure will be conducted by the Head of School in consultation with the post holder
2. In these circumstances it will be the aim to reach agreement on reasonable changes, but if agreement is not possible management reserves the right to make changes to the job description following consultation.
