My client is is a leading bank who provides property finance - bridging, development and investor.

They are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Relationship Manager to join their Manchester based team (hybrid working).

**Overview**

The principal responsibility of the role is to support the Lending Manager (Relationship Director) in the ongoing management of an active portfolio of property developer and investor clients to which we are providing senior debt finance. The Assistant Managerwill work closely with the Lending Manager to ensure that the portfolio of accounts is managed diligently and pro-actively and that they are always fully compliant with Credit and Risk policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**
- Undertake due diligence on newly approved loan facilities in order that the bank's lending requirements are met and to ensure that all internal credit controls and procedures are adhered to.
- Administer the Lending Manager’s loan portfolio in order that payments are made and receipts are processed on a timely basis with appropriate recording undertaken.
- Maintain customer account records in the Lending System in order that the integrity of the Bank's accounting records and data is maintained, liaising with the Finance and Administration team as appropriate.
- Prepare Facility, Amendment and Renewal Letters.
- Attend meetings (internal and external) with the Lending Manager, taking notes, preparing minutes and producing follow up papers and correspondence.
- Instruct the bank's professional advisors (solicitors, valuers and monitoring surveyors) and thereafter ensure that their reports are received promptly and address all the relevant issues (as set out in the formal instructions) and are generally of a qualitywhich meets the bank's desired standards.
- To assess in conjunction with the Lending Manager, valuation and quantity surveyors reports to ensure that the quality of the security and viability of a project (where appropriate) meets the bank's requirements.
- To prepare payments for authorisation, either the completion of new facilities or stage draws, ensuring that the approved lending parameters and any special requirements have been met.
- Attend Credit Committee in conjunction with Lending Manager to seek approval for new loan facilities, renewals and amendments to the portfolio.
- Monitor the Lending Manager portfolio and keep loan renewals up to date including carrying out annual reviews.
- Take new enquiries from potential clients and brokers.
- Proactively manage client queries and ensure a high level of customer service is delivered at all times.
- Liaise with valuers, project monitoring surveyors and lawyers to follow up queries prior to loan completions and on an ongoing basis once loans have drawn.

**What you will Bring**
- Not less than 2 years banking experience, ideally in a property finance role.
- Experience of customer relationship management.
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload and work under pressure when necessary.
- Education 'A’ level or equivalent.
- Self-motivated and able to demonstrate excellent time management.
- Strong communication skills and a professional manner.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
