Information Officer

The Information Officer is a member of the Business Intelligence Service responsible for developing and managing the organisation’s framework of information and reporting systems. This framework reflects the agreed business objectives of the organisation, and supports a number of different services / functions, including operational management, service commissioning, planning, performance management, statutory returns, and public health.
The post holder will be the first point of contact for the Business Intelligence Service to support the flow of requests coming into the team and prioritise accordingly. You will need to be able to build strong working relationships, work independently, use your initiative and adapt a “can do” approach.
The role will take the lead on the weekly monitoring and management of the Business Intelligence log. This will include weekly reporting of the progress of logs recorded and escalating as required to the Data Quality and Compliance Manager. The post holder will also be required to provide feedback and/or status updates to individuals within the wider Business Intelligence Service or teams within NHFT. To do this successfully, you will need to hold excellent organisational, administrational and interpersonal skills to enable the post holder to engage with end-users, so that a thorough understanding of requests is attained, ensuring developments and testing are in scope.
The role will take the lead responsibility for the collection and usage of various types of data and information in a timely manner. They will check the data for quality and completeness and enter the data into various databases and files both for national submission, and internal use. The main tasks will be completing a routine set of daily reporting requirements which involves data gathering, data entry/processing and sense checking information provided. The post holder must be able to work to strict deadlines as well as requiring good excel and robust administration skills along with attention to detail. Other duties include performing routine analytical tasks and supporting members of the team in their roles by preparing, cleansing, and checking data which ensure the timely execution of team processes.
