**Regional Head of Safety - Scotland (Part-Time 20 hours)**
**Salary £35,000 - £45,000 Pro-rata**

We are looking for a regional **food and safety manager** to help oversee our beautiful settings at CC Nurseries in **Edinburgh, Whitburn and Glasgow.**
**Overall Purpose**
As Safety Manager you will play a key role in training and advising the operations and nursery management teams on our policies and procedures which will enable them to provide a safe and healthy environment throughout the organisation, including food safety. You will work in partnership with Bright Safe to ensure the company is meeting all Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements. Your passion and enthusiasm will inspire others to take a proactive and positive approach to safety, health and wellbeing and help promote safe working practices.
**Key Tasks**:
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Escalation of Health & Safety or Critical works to the SLT.
- Provide training and advice to the operations team and nursery management to enable them to understand and uphold the company policies and legal duties.
- Undertake audits in the nurseries, observe staff practice and completion of documentation in line with our policies and procedures and Bright Safe
- To centrally monitor all critical / serious incidents and report to regulatory bodies as necessary.
- Liaise with managers to ensure they have identified the cause, areas for improvement and prevention controls.
- Review, advise and implement suitable risk assessments in line with Bright Safe to ensure legal requirements are being met and managed effectively.
- Monitor regulatory visit reports, accidents, incidents, and complaints relating to food and safety via Bright Safe.
- Share best practice and ways of working with management and operations teams.
- Keep up to date with legal changes including, new legislation and guidance related to health, safety, food safety, hygiene, and welfare.
- Be the expert in food safety.
- Overall responsibility for menu development and gain accreditation for our menus.
- Support with recruitment and training of nursery chefs.
- Oversee policy development relating to food and safety.
- Review data trends to inform policy and best practice.
- Manage the Facilities & H&S Coordinator to prioritise maintenance works.
- Management and monitoring of Bright Safe system
- Prepare and report to the Directors, Board and as required.
**Knowledge and skills required**:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate staff teams to success.
- Ability to analyse data and present findings.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to identify priorities and meet outcomes.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure.
