Hull City Council’s Housing Access Service is looking for someone to join our Private Sector Access Team as a Private Sector Tenancy Officer. The team supports those who might struggle to access accommodation for a variety of reasons into appropriate private sector tenancies and provides tenancy support to help them sustain those tenancies, linking in with other services as required.

Our Private Sector Access Team liaises and negotiates with landlords and agents in the private sector in order to source tenancies for people approaching the council as homeless, including those whose housing options would otherwise be very limited.

The team was established in early 2020 and has developed positive relationships with landlords locally to provide accommodation in the private sector.

The team provides significant advocacy and tenancy support to those offered tenancies with private landlords in order that their tenancy is a success, avoiding the cycle of repeat homelessness.

The role will require lone working in various locations, including customers’ homes. The roles will be based between office(s), home and other locations, and you can work flexibly within this according to the needs of your role and working day.
