**About the role**:
The Technical Co-ordinator is an exciting, mix of field and office-based roles within Waste Networks. As the Technical Co-ordinator for the SSPS Team (Small Sewage Pumping Team ), you will be responsible for the management of the pre-requisites (materials,permits, resources and services) for all complex jobs for planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations. This role will involve day to day contractor liaison and management, input into future planning and solutions, and provide technical supportto the wider team. This role is vital to the effective performance of our Critical National Infrastructure. You will undertake important work to repair and enhance assets on our Sewage Pumping Stations, ensuring our customers receive a reliable and high-qualityservice. This varies from relatively simple jobs to replace ‘like for like’ valves/pumps/control systems to complex work where stations need to be upgraded or flow management needs to be in place to enable the job. A significant amount of the work undertakenwill directly link to customer contacts, giving you the opportunity to make a big impact on the lives of the people we serve. You will join a team containing both recent starters with fresh ideas and individuals who have been maintaining our assets for manyyears and are more than willing to share their experience.
**Main Accountabilities**:

- Immersing yourself in often unseen and unique infrastructure that serves millions of people
- Investigating and reviewing the performance of our Sewage Pumping Stations
- Responding to asset failures and coordinating resource to return them to service
- Liaising with our contractors and suppliers to deliver solutions to problems on our sites
- Managing complex work and investigations
- Using your experience and technical expertise to directly improve the lives of our customers
- Understanding and engaging with a variety of equipment including but not limited to pumps, valves, pipework, lifting equipment, ultrasonic level sensors, flowmeters, control panels and LV electrical equipment.
- Providing technical advice and expertise to field staff and 3rd parties
- This will include providing detailed instruction and monitoring progress.
- Waste Control Centre - Monitor our telemetry
- Planning and Scheduling - Plan and deliver work to technicians
- Maintenance Projects - Deliver higher value capital works
- SCADA Support - Technical expertise for our telemetry systems
- Purchasing and Contract Management - Supplier management
- Liaising with customers and customer representatives including council and local government officials.
- Responding promptly and effectively to operational events

**System and Process**:

- Raising and receipting work orders through SAP
- Using our APS risk system to highlight and investigate areas of risk and opportunity within our infrastructure
- Use of SCADA telemetry to investigate site operation and ensure a prompt and effective response in event situations
- Reviewing reports for statutory inspections and raising relevant follow on work (i.e. chemical tank inspections and remedial actions).

**To be successful in this role it is envisaged that you will have following skills and experience**:

- Qualified to at least NVQ level, ideally specialised in the area of mechanical or electrical engineering. Ideally, you will have experience of technical job design and/or prerequisite management within an infrastructure related environment.
- You will have extensive experience in a process related or utility industry together with a sound working knowledge of the safe systems of work required under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- IT literacy is essential as all work is managed through the SAP system (user training for this and other standard software systems will be provided).
- You will also demonstrate a good business/ stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem solving and strong team working and influencing skills.
- A full current driving license is essential for this position
