Temporary Works Coordinator

**About our role**: We are recruiting for a temporary works coordinator with an engineering background preferably having worked as a section engineer or sub agent to join our temporary works team. Reporting into and supporting our Project Temporary Works Lead, you’ll plan and direct the delivery and manage the temp works coordination across our project. **Our role** **_Operational_** - Supporting with all aspects of the design, coordination, submission, compliance, programming and management of temporary works design, and assurance, maintaining and updating the Temporary Works Register and completed similar roles within Construction. - Being the first point of contact between the designers of Temporary Works and the site team/ Contractors. - Co-ordination of all Temporary Works activities. - Ensuring that design briefs are prepared by relevant team members (with appropriate consultation), are adequate and are in accordance with the actual site requirements (design brief are prepared by the construction team and reviewed / approved by the Area TWC/ Lead TWC). - Ensuring that satisfactory Temporary Works designs are carried out, that appropriate design checks are completed and that the design has been approved. - Ensuring all appointments are in place for all contractors or kept up to date during the construction stages. - Pre-erection inspection of the temporary works materials and components. - Control and supervision of the erection, safe use, maintenance and dismantling of the temporary works. - Check that the temporary works have been erected in accordance with the approved designs and issue a formal "permit to load" where necessary. - Confirm when the permanent works have attained adequate strength to allow dismantling of the temporary works and issue a formal "permit to dismantle" where necessary. - Ensuring that a Change Control process is in place, that any agreed changes or remedial action are done properly and controlled & monitored on site following Temporary Works Procedures. - Ensuring that maintenance of the Temporary Works is properly done (or delegation to construction team is carried out); - Following confirmation that the permanent structure has attained adequate strength, issuing formal permission to dismantle the Temporary Works, and specifying any sequencing of the operation that is required. - To ensure that all appropriate maintenance and inspection of the Temporary Works are carried out. - Carry out regular audits or surveillance to contractor installed temporary works. - Technical ability to review and approve Temporary Works designs from contractors or in house designs. - Manage interfaces across our production and subcontractor teams **About you**: You hold a degree or equivalent qualification and or experience in an Engineering related discipline preferably Civil or Structural. You hold a current TWC CITB Certification, and a valid CSCS card, coupled with Contractor/Subcontractor management experience. T You will have demonstrable experience of working at a similar level with experience gained in temporary works design/delivery management, ideally on large infrastructure/construction projects. You’ll have strong organisational skills, effective influencing, and communication skills. You’ll also be a strong collaborator and relationship builder with effective stakeholder management skills. You will be holding a full driving licence. **About our project**: ALIGN JV is a joint venture between Bouygues Travaux Publics, VolkerFitzpatrick and Sir Robert McAlpine. **The C1 Package includes the following elements**: - The Colne Valley Viaduct which is a 3+ km long and spanning the lakes of the Colne Valley, - Chiltern Tunnels - 2 x 16km long tunnels through the Chiltern Hills - Western Valley Slopes (South Portal) - 2.5km of earthworks including the TBM launching portal and main compound in Maple Cross housing the TBM plant and equipment, main offices and tunnel/viaduct pre cast yards - 5 x Ventilation Shafts at Chalfont St. Peter, Chalfont St. Giles, Amersham, Little Missenden and Chesham. Shaft depth between 35m-65m with diaphragm walls up to 80m deep. Headhouses at each location.
