**Finance Manager - Reading - £50000 - £55000 (flexible hours)**

**The Organisation**:
Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting for a Finance Manager for a 15million t/o prestigious School based near Reading.

**The Role**:
The Finance Manager will support the leadership team by leading on all elements of accounting and financial management of the school on both a day to day and longer-term strategic basis. You will have responsibility over the financial management of the school,its trading subsidiary and a separate but connected charity Trust (which supports both the school and wider community objectives). The core element of the role is the financial management of the school, but it is also wide ranging in terms of acting as a businesspartner to various departments and supporting the delivery of events and activities from a financial management perspective. You will manage two members of staff.

**Duties Include**:

- Assist the Bursar with the overall Financial Leadership of the School
- Produce accurate and insightful financial management information on a termly and annual basis
- Prepare information for the management of the school's finances, covering areas such as fees and other income, debtors, cash flow, payroll and other expenditure
- Prepare for and manage the annual audit of the School's financial statements
- Manage the School's Financial processes and systems
- Responsible for the accurate maintenance of the School's accounting records including fees ledger, creditors ledger, fixed asset register, bank reconciliations, nominal ledgers and other control accounts
- Treasury management
- Ensure the accurate preparation of payroll records
- Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns for the trading subsidiary
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Act as Treasurer to the Charitable Trust,
- Keep abreast of the financial implications of the charitable status of the school
- Deliver and/or support on ad hoc projects such as implementation of new accounting/finance systems
- Plan, design and initiate cost saving and efficiency measures as appropriate

**Experience and Skills**:
The successful Finance Manager will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA OR CIPFA). You will have excellent management accounting skills at a strategic level. You will be an advanced user of accounting software and Excel with strong data handling andanalysis skills. Excellent knowledge of, and ability to implement and maintain, robust and modern financial controls is essential. Experience of preparing high quality management information and analysis and adding value through insight and commentary. Previousexperience of working in Education is an advantage
