**Guest House Duty Manager**

We are looking for an experienced Guest House Duty Manager to oversee our guest house's daily operations and assist the board of directors in providing and implementing strategic direction. In addition, you will plan and supervise a diverse workforce's activitiesto ensure the business's smooth and profitable running.

The Duty manager needs to be involved in all aspects of the hotel operations and prepare to work flexible and outside the normal working hours to accommodate the best service to our guests. You will be just as responsible for dealing with complaints as strategizingand preparing reports. In addition, you will be a key person of reference for employees, clients, and external vendors.

The goal is to enhance customer dedication and expand our clientele by strengthening our guest house's reputation.

**Responsibilities**
- Supervise work at all levels (receptionists, kitchen staff, maids, office employees etc.) and set clear objectives
- Managing booking system and ensuring rapid response to customers' request
- Plan activities and allocate responsibilities to achieve the most efficient operating model
- Manage budgets/expenses, analyze and interpret financial information and monitor sales and profits
- Develop and implement an intuitive and efficient marketing strategy to promote the hotel's services
- Communicate with customers when appropriate (welcome them to the facilities, address their complaints, find solutions to problems, offer information etc.)
- Deal with maintenance issues, shortages in staff or equipment, renovations etc.
- Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, travel agencies, event/conference planners etc.
- Inspect facilities regularly and enforce strict compliance with health and safety standards
- Provide daily reports to the remote upper management team

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven experience as Duty Manager or customer-facing roles, or operational experience working in hotel or guest house
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus; Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus
- Understanding of all hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines
- Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of hotel management software is an advantage
- Excellent customer service skills as well as a business mindset
- Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
- Reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Outstanding leadership skills and great attention to detail
- A degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Management or relevant field is an advantage
