**So. What is this role exactly?**

This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join Your Housing Groups Repairs and Maintenance Division in the Minor Works Team and provide a high quality repairs service to our customers throughout Manchester and the surrounding areas.

Although we try to base our operatives closest to their home location it may still be required for you to travel to other locations due to business requirements.

**What will my working week look like?**

You will live within your regional area of work which will be Manchester and will ideally also be within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses when needed.

**What will I be responsible for doing?**

First and foremost, you will be responsible for providing a quality repairs service to our customers, travelling to designated properties, undertaking, and completing all aspects of plastering repair work.

As a member of our reactive maintenance and repairs team, you will carry out roofing work on maintenance, major and minor construction works, for both void and tenanted properties owned by Your Housing Group. You will be confident and capable, ensuring all work undertaken is completed with due regard for quality, productivity, and safety.

To be a successful as** a Maintenance Operative** here at YHG, ideally
- **You will have a full UK Driving License** (ideally no more than 6 points)
- You will be experienced in patching, painting, internal and external maintenance works and minor repairs as well as mould treatment.
- You will have experience working within the social housing industry
- You will have basic health and safety knowledge in a repair’s environment

This role also offers genuine progression opportunities, many of our operatives go on to gain further qualifications or take up team leader, supervisory or secondment roles internally when they arise.
