This post is based in the Sheffield City Council’s Housing & Neighbourhood’s Tenancy Enforcement & Sustainment Team.
The Teams role is to investigate and resolve serious/complex/high-risk breaches of tenancy, taking legal action where necessary (preparing cases, instructing solicitors and representing the Council in court), and supporting victims and witnesses.
This role within the team is to act as a first point of contact for staff in the Housing and Neighbourhoods Service around Tenancy Enforcement and related issues.
You will need experience of dealing with ASB/ tenancy management concerns, and be aware of the tools and powers available, as you will be providing advice, guidance and practical support to staff on breaches of tenancy conditions, tenancy enforcement and related issues.
- You will use your experience and judgement to determine an appropriate course of action for these queries, and support officers to conform to best practice in their work.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of relevant legal and technical aspects of tenancy enforcement, anti-social behaviour, community safety, housing management, and associated issues.
- You will provide training, quality assurance, development, coaching, guidance and support to colleagues on all aspects of tenancy enforcement; and ensure the development and dissemination of Tenancy Enforcement policies and procedures.
- You will need excellent communication skills and be great at engaging with people, working collaboratively, and working proactively.
- You will also need excellent IT skills, and have the ability to able to keep accurate records, you must possess sound written and verbal skills and be self-motivated and resourceful

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. This role is not available currently as a job share or reduced hours.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
