This is an exciting opportunity to join the launch of a new specialist team at Great Places. Working with our front line colleagues across our Neighbourhoods, Independence & Wellbeing, and Plumlife teams, your expertise in housing law will be invaluable and help drive and support our ways of working for the benefitof our customers.
**Housing and Enforcement Specialist**:
Reporting to the Housing & Enforcement Manager, the Housing & Enforcement Specialist is a dual role whereby you will provide comprehensive advice and support on housing law matters ranging from general housing management queries to more complex and diverselegal demands, requiring you to know the legal basis upon which housing management activities are formed. You will also support our ASB and tenancy enforcement work including managing a small case load of complex cases, with self-representation at court inline with the LSA 2007.
The role will involve travel across the wide geography of our footprint as a business, which means you will need to be comfortable with hybrid working and you can be based in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire or with easy access to our operating areas.
**About You**:
Your experience and training could be quite diverse to meet the criteria for this role, you might have worked in a similar role or a business support role for a housing association, or perhaps you have experience of working for a law firm specialising in socialhousing, you may have worked for Citizens Advice or similar, whatever your experience you will have an excellent working knowledge of housing law in relation to contractual, statutory and relevant legislative provisions for registered providers. Alongsidethis, you will have a good working knowledge of all aspects of ASB and enforcement legislation and regulation. You will have an eye for detail and be able to work and advise on complex casework with confidence and ease, relying on your legal knowledge andexperience to guide and upskill colleagues across different business areas. Your ability to build and nurture internal and external partnerships will be key, as well as your ability to work with empathy whilst guiding, advising and supporting customers aspart of your casework.
