Clinical Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Disease

ICTU is a UKCRC registered clinical trials unit that brings together academic, clinical and trial management expertise to deliver world class clinical trials of all phases. The Unit leads on the design, conduct and analysis of national and international multi-centre trials.
ICTU-global is the arm of ICTU that functions as an Academic Clinical Research Organisation (ACRO) to deliver clinical trials and studies for, or in collaboration with, industry. A Clinical Research Fellow is required at ICTU-Global to support our growing cardiovascular portfolio. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a skilled researcher to join a world leading research team at a globally ranked top 10 university.
You will be developing your research career under the supervision of Professor Kausik Ray, Deputy Director of ICTU and Director of ICTU-Global, who is renowned for world-leading research on cardiovascular disease prevention and epidemiology. Prof Ray has been rated in the top 0.1% of highly cited authors globally in clinical medicine.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
You will be required to provide the clinical support and knowledge required for the day-to-day delivery of our cardiovascular trials and studies. You will have a good understanding of cardiovascular disease prevention and a good understanding of trial methodology. You will be able to interpret findings and demonstrate understanding and limitations of study design and available data.
You will be proficient in English, capable of leading the writing of research reports for funders and capable to presenting findings competently at international research meetings and drafting publications for international peer review.
You will be capable of managing a varied workload, have excellent attention to detail, and be knowledgeable about data confidentiality, protection policies and procedures.
**Essential requirements**:
- A degree in medicine (MBBS or equivalent).
- In depth knowledge in the field of cardiovascular disease.
- A track record of presenting scientific results/findings to specialist and non-specialist audiences, with evidence of a growing reputation.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in international collaborative research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to co-write papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Expertise of applied research methods and study designs
- Ability to conduct a detailed review of recent literature

**Further information**:
This is a full time, fixed term role for 18 months in the first instance and will be based primarily at Stadium House, White City campus.
