**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
Clinical coders are responsible for:
- Monitor and review all incoming correspondence through Docman and code appropriately using SNOMED CT codes, highlighting and forwarding any actions to clinical and non-clinical staff members.
- Amend filing and coding errors as and when necessary.
- Ongoing tidying of patient’s medical records.
- Summarise patient paper notes into electronic record when required.
- Scan patient-related documents onto Docman, ensuring all appropriate information regarding the document is recorded.
- Ensure incoming letters are scanned onto the patient record within a timely manner.
- Monitoring EMIS Documents inbox and actioning as appropriate.
- Monitoring the OOH inbox and actioning as appropriate.

**Other Tasks**:

- Ensure building security - have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
- Providing holiday cover for colleagues.
- Any other tasks allocated by managers.

**Personal/Professional Development**:
The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include:

- Participation in an annual individual performance review.
- Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
