Build and Release Engineer Perm

We are looking for an experienced engineer to take ownership of our build, test and deploy processes.

These are currently shared responsibilities but require improved management as our estate and processes grow in terms of scale and complexity. The role is an opportunity to put in place new ways of working which will be critical to the company's success
- which you will have a stake in. Specific responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate and manage multiple feature releases through QA and Production
- Ensuring dev/QA environment stability and ensuring any interruptions are adequately coordinated
- Forward planning with QA and Development to identify potential environment or infrastructure pitfalls that could impact ability to QA a particular feature
- Manage and coordinate Build and Release Management activities, release branches/streams
- Make recommendations on specific aspects of Build and Deployment and continuously strive towards improvements in process and productivity through technology improvements
- Perform day-to-day project tasks needed to automate and deploy releases through test environments

Any of the following technologies/methodologies would be advantageous:

- Python/ GO
- CI/CD Pipelines, Ansible
- Open Nebula / VCenter / KVM
- Docker/Kubernetes
- MaaS
- Networking and Sever configuration and knowledge
- L2/L3 load balancing
- Apache/Nginx
- Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ
- Emulating Hardware

Python experience in particular is valuable as this is the programming language used by the majority of the development teams. But engineers who can produce well-written automation in other languagues including shell scripting languages would be consideredas well
