Emergency Department Receptionist
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Department for dedicated, forward thinking and self motivated individuals to join our team of Evening and Weekend Receptionists.
The shifts are Weekends 8.30am - 4pm.
We are looking to recruit an organised and methodical person with excellent communication and customer care skills. Flexibility to provide holiday and sickness cover for the Evening & Weekend Team Colleagues, often at short notice, is also an important requirement.
It is a fast paced environment and you will need to demonstrate your ability to remain calm under pressure and to use your own initiative. You will be expected to book in patients who self present or who arrive by ambulance, answer telephone enquiries, obtain hospital notes, photocopying, scanning and other clerical duties as necessary.
As the Emergency Department runs a 24/7 service the post holder would be expected to provide cover for Bank Holidays which fall within their shift pattern.
A comprehensive training package will be available to the successful applicant.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has circa 500 beds, 28 wards and serves a population of around 278,800 people who are living in three counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.
We have begun our journey of improvement, to turnaround the Trust from one with an 'inadequate' rating (and in special measures) from the Care Quality Commission to one our local communities can be proud of. Our 2,818 strong workforce is committed to working together with partners to make the sustainable changes required of us to consistently deliver the safe and high quality care our patients can expect of us and there are already signs of progress.
We are exceptionally proud to have recently moved out of special measures and see this as a testament to the determination of our trust wide teams to put our patients first and recognise the hard work and dedication of all our staff.
Please see attached job description and person specification for further information about the job role.
