**JOB TITLE**

Refuse Collection Operative & Maintenance Operative

**LOCATION**

Covering the Lake District (and beyond) in our waste collection van. **Ideally, you will be located near Kendal, where the waste transfer station is located.**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

You will be working alone to collect waste from holiday homes around the Lake District, Yorkshire and Lancashire. We may require you to visit a holiday home to carry out handyman work, so maintenance experience is a must.

Initially, the role will be zero-hours. Collections will initially take place on a Friday and every other Thursday, and then gradually fill more days as we establish a customer base in the area (Mon-Fri).

The main tasks include:

- Driving around the countryside and narrow lanes collecting bin bags from holiday cottages in our company van.
- Disposing of the bin bags at the waste transfer station
- Using an app to log collections and follow routes.
- Carrying out basic maintenance work in holiday lets (if an issue arises at one of our Finest Retreats properties).

**ABOUT YOU**

You will be a genuine team player who will share our passion for great service.

You’ll be driving our 3.5 tonne truck around the most scenic parts of the Lake District and beyond, so an excellent driving record is a must (some of the lanes will be narrow).

You will be representing us out on the road so you will need to be friendly, courteous and happy to chat with owners or guests who you meet. You will enjoy driving on your own but being in regular contact with our operations team in the office.

As the contract is initially zero-hours, we are looking for someone who is flexible and can be relied upon.

**As we do not operate from a central depot, you will need to have a safe place to park the truck (Isuzu Grafter).**
