We will provide a fully paid 4-year Apprenticeship to help you gain a Degree specialising in Digital User Experience (UX) and provide hands on working experience.

Day to day, you'll work as part of an experienced team to learn how to simplify user journeys and define the digital experience of our services and products, translating user needs and business goals into meaningful outcomes that have a wide impact on public road users.

You’ll spend 20% of your working week studying with lots of support from senior service designers and user researchers, your line manager and Apprenticeship provider.

As a user experience designer degree apprentice, you will study toward a BSc Digital User Experience (UX) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, with 24 days of face-to-face learning per year based at the brand new Digital School of Arts building.

You’ll be working with an organisation that serves millions of people, making a real difference to road safety and protecting the British public.

**Job description**:
Day to day, you’ll work within our User Centred Design Team and your role will consist of:

- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to craft useful and usable digital products and services
- Understand design thinking; supporting workshop activities and co-creation sessions; both in person and using online tools
- Learn user research and analysis methods to produce clear findings, reframe problems and articulate opportunities based on a wide range of data.
- Understand development principles and design methods (GDS agile delivery phases, Design Sprints, Agile sprints).

**Person specification**:
Essential qualifications/licenses:

- A GCSE in Mathematics and English language (grade A*-C/9-4) or equivalent L2 qualification (eg functional skills).

We are looking for someone who:

- Is a quick learner, open to learning user centred design principles and new technologies.
- Has knowledge, awareness or interest in any human centred methodologies or job family professions; which include service design, interaction design and user research.
- Has good communication skills (written and spoken).
- Is comfortable working in a team.
- Has basic task management and tracking.
- Has the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Has willingness to learn from others.
- Takes a positive problem-solving approach

Be prepared to work towards the Digital User Experience (UX) Professional degree apprenticeship.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

- Be aged 18 or over.
- Have the right work in the UK.
- Hold a GCSE in Mathematics and English language (grade A*-C/9-4) or equivalent L2 qualification (eg functional skills).
- Not be in full-time education.
- Not be in receipt of funding for other learning programmes at the point of enrolment for this apprenticeship.
