**Southampton - 37.5 hours per week | 12 months fixed term contract | Salary depending on experience**
**ROLE PURPOSE**
The HR Coordinator reports directly to the HR Advisor providing a focal point to employees for each stage of the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to; recruitment, reward & benefits, contractual and policy guidance, absence and departures. Responsible for the smooth administration of the Peoplesoft and Payroll databases for the Southampton Spire Hospital, undertaking regular and adhoc HR related projects as directed by the HR Advisor and Spire Senior Management Team.
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Act as one of the initial points of contact for all HR generalist matters; providing high quality consistent advice and guidance to all levels of employee. Escalation of Employee Relations (ER) issues to HR Advisor / ER Consultant as appropriate.
- Work with the HR Administrator to coordinate and undertake Southampton Spire Hospital's generalist HR workload, ensuring accurate, timely and confidential management and processing of all employee data. Maintain the Peoplesoft hierarchy to aid all processing input.
- Ensure completion of each employees Right to Work, DBS and medical checks to ensure requisite approvals are held and compliance to Spire Healthcare policy and UK legal requirements.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with HR Shared Services and Payroll Teams to ensure all recruitment and changes to employee's terms and conditions are accurate and timely, meeting Payroll and Benefits Teams cut-off deadlines.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all key stakeholders (SMT and HoDs) and third party services suppliers, including external recruitment agencies and occupational health providers.
- Support the HR Advisor in delivering the Spire Healthcare People Strategy locally, effectively implementing initiatives and projects, continually seeking and recommending improvements, e.g. supporting the annual Employee Survey, coordinating the Enabling Excellence process and data entry.
- Support the HR Advisor in the consistent delivery of the Spire Absence Policy, ensuring robust management of the end to end notification and return to work process and that impacts on payroll and escalations to informal and formal stages are managed effectively by HR and line managers.
- Co-ordinate absence related escalations to Occupational Health ensuring responses are received and shared in a timely and confidential manner.
- Support the HR Advisor with disciplinary, grievance and capability investigations when appropriate to ensure cases are managed in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional development, keeping updated with employment law changes and introductions.
- Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.

Experience

Proven experience as an HR, Administrator or other HR position.
Experience of successful delivery in a project or customer / employee delivery role.
Knowledge of generalist HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.).
Understanding of employment laws, absence and disciplinary / grievance procedures.
Desirable '“
Previous experience of the private healthcare sector or other regulated industry with a major focus on governance and compliance.
Previous experience of working in a matrix environment, in close collaboration with a Central HR Team.
Knowledge & Technical Ability
Essential '“
Excellent IT skills including recent working use of the Microsoft Office suite. (Word, Excel and Outlook particularly).
Generalist HR data entry experience on a HRIS.
Proven ability to work with cross functional teams.
Ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Well developed problem solving skills.
