- About the College/DepartmentThe Civic Team here at University of Derby is a team of friendly and supportive staff who deliver a wide range of civic, community and industry focused projects; including our flagship projects; S.H.E.D, National Saturday Club, Civic Curiosity E-Bikes, CivicLAB, our annual Civic Conference, and our civic and community grant programme as well as supporting a wide range of stakeholder and public engagement projects and festivals that we have recently received funding to deliver.

- About the roleAs a Civic Operations Officer, you will support the University in the delivery of its civic and community projects and initiatives. You will lead on the day-to-day operations of the department, whilst ensuring our flagship programmes and projects are delivered to the highest of standards, whilst working in a busy team.

No two days are quite the same, you will be co-ordinating meetings with stakeholders, and project partners, hosting events and ensuring that the operational planning, budgeting and delivery of our work is kept on track

Our work contributes to the development of civic innovation, through a wide range of knowledge exchange and research connected activities.
- About YouTo be successful in this role, you will be used to working to tight deadlines on high profile events with external funders and partners. Strong communication, administrative and organisation skills are key, and deep enjoyment for working in a vibrant and dynamic team.

Data collection, financial monitoring and project management will be key skills that you would use on a daily basis.

Your ability to network and collaborate will be critical to support delivery of our civic work which spans across the whole university. You will work very closely with our staff, students and external stakeholders, and community partners.
- Principal accountabilities- To identify and manage the Civic Goals and drive performance through liaison and collaboration with the Civic Team and Associate Professor (Civic Practice); report against agreed KPIs to evidence success.
- Work in association with the Associate Professor (Civic Practice) to identify and develop new opportunities for partnerships, projects and community engagement.
- Be a point of contact for external stakeholders, oversee project agreements, identify and liaise with appropriate stakeholders to track compliance to agreements.
- Use your expertise to impact support the Civic Team to report on and manage the appropriate financials for a project.
- Lead on the evaluation of projects and programmes of work in association with the Associate Professor (Civic Practice) to provide robust reports on progress and impact.
- In association with the Associate Professor (Civic Practice) and the Civic Team, work to develop the profile of the University of Derby as a Civic institution.
- Prepare and provide updates and/or seek approval by the Associate Professor (Civic Practice) and the Civic & Community Committee for new schemes of work.
- In conjunction with the Associate Professor (Civic Practice) support the evaluation of, and monitoring activities for, the Civic University Agreement.
