Since the introduction of the Government’s new Social Value Model from January 2021 for central government contracts, Social Value has come into sharp focus. It is now mandatory for central procurement to evaluate Social Value at 10% of the overall score. Resulting in a demand to create and deliver Social Value strategies. Whilst Social Value has always been a key part of our business, the momentum has picked up due to an increase in business wins which requires delivery of their own specific strategy and commitments and to ensure our success we are now recruiting a Social Value Officer to join us on our journey

The Local Government Partnership (LGP) Social Value Officer will be key in creating and driving the Social Value Strategy for the partnership, incorporating the UK wide strategy and guidance where appropriate.

Using your ability to engage and influence, you will work collaboratively to establish relation with various organisations across Lincolnshire, Hertfordshire, and Peterborough, with the aim of providing benefit to the local communities in which we operate. Working closely with the Social Value Champion Network and representatives from across all three contracts you'll identify Social Value opportunities and deliver programmes of social value. You'll support with the development and implementation of strategies that embed social value into LGP activities. You'll develop ways of working that support the stakeholders and client to include social value in delivery through the life of the contract. Working with all contracts within the partnership you'll ensure positive social, environmental, and economic outcomes throughout our activities.

This is a flexible home-working/office based role, with some requirement to travel.

**What you’ll need to do the role**:
If you are already an experienced Social Value professional who is passionate and motivated by environmental and social issues and driving change through them then we want to hear from you We are keen to hear from those who are passionate about environmental and social issues and driving change however this is not essential. Other requirements include:

- Experience in monitoring and reporting measures to stakeholders
- Understanding when to update measures to ensure fit for purpose.
- Familiarisation with the new central government Social Value model would be beneficial but not essential.
- Experience working within an organisation and be familiar with corporate social responsibility, governance, and processes.
- Demonstrate track record of supporting/implementing new ideas in terms of communications tools and channels.
- IT Literate - MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
