The Role As an Advanced Practitioner within the Social Care Screening Team, you will play a pivotal role in decision-making at the front door of Children’s Services. This is a non-case holding position, focused on screening contacts about children and young people, advising partner agencies, and determining the right level of support required for families. You will work collaboratively with Social Care, Early Help colleagues, and external partners to ensure effective safeguarding and support. Key Responsibilities Screen and assess contacts regarding children and young people. Provide consultations to guide partner agencies on appropriate support. Contribute to decision-making at the Social Care Front Door. Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to safeguard children. Support emotional resilience through peer networks, supervision, and training. Candidate Requirements Recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registration. Significant social work experience with in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation. Strong understanding of Social Care Intervention thresholds. Commitment to social work values and restorative practice. Strengths-based, creative, and innovative approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships. Effective time management and organisational skills.
