**Health & Safety Coordinator**

**Distribution - Middleton**

**Role Purpose**: To assist the site in all aspects of Health and Safety including near miss, incident and injury reporting and escalate where appropriate. Keep records of all safety related documentation and upload onto the Injury Reporting System and internal spreadsheets. Participate in and record all daily safety audits and provide this information to site management on a weekly basis. Play a proactive part with site safety related improvements.

**Role Line**:Operations Support Manager

**Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities**:

- Intervenes in correcting unsafe work practices that may be going on in the DC.
- Monitors employees’ and employer’s adherence to safety policies and/or guidelines.
- Organises accident investigation processes.
- Carry out development of our safety policies.
- Keeps record of all safety-related issues within the DC and assists with any corrective measures that may need to be taken.
- Undertake safety audits across the site to ensure the DC is compliant with safe working practices and reviewing and other site related reviews.
- Assisting with the writing and reviewing risk assessments, safe systems of work and standard operating procedures.
- Playing an active part in site safety related forums / meetings.
- Liaise with Toolstation Business Partner on a regular basis, keeping them informed on all site related safety issues.

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- Qualified to IOSH Managing Safely would be desirable but not essential - further training avaliable in role.
- Experience in a health and safety role.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in online IT including Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Word.
- Attention to detail and ability to assimilate, appraise and use information practically.
- Skilled in a variety of administrative systems and processes.
- An appreciation of confidentiality.
- A professional individual with a cooperative attitude.
- Set and help to achieve departmental objectives relating to health and safety.
- In depth knowledge of all principles and practices relating to compliant health and safety.
- Confident and clear communication skills.
- Flexible approach to work with excellent problem-solving skills.

**Salary**: £25,700.00 per year
