Technical Support Assistant

To provide technical and administrative support to officers, managers and customers of Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Consumer Protection services.
**Key Duties / Responsibilities**
1. Provide technical and administrative support to Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Consumer Protection services at a level commensurate with the grade of the post, in a flexible manner, ensuring that an effective, efficient and customer focussed service is delivered within required timescales.
2. Access, use, and maintain systems and databases, including those of internal and external agency partners, determining those cases that are within jurisdiction, carrying out actions as appropriate to the post, and making accurate records.
3. Assist with the maintenance of filing systems, both digital and manual to enable files to be accurately located, retained and disposed of in accordance with Service retention schedules.
4. Produce statistical reports as necessary to support environmental health and trading standards business processes, and to compile data to support Freedom of Information Act, Corporate Complaints and other Official responses
6. Provide technical assistance to customer contacts, via all access channels, ensuring that they are dealt with in a professional and effective manner, and responded to, allocated or redirected as appropriate
Competencies associated with NVQ Level 2 in Administration / Business Studies
Previous experience in a similar discipline and public facing environment providing technical and administrative support
Knowledge of the functions and business rules in relation to Public Protection
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, be a good listener, with an empathetic approach.
Developed interpersonal skills which include the ability to persuade customers on the most appropriate course of action to resolve their issue.
Must demonstrate an organised and methodical approach to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
Ability to use IT systems, Inc. Microsoft office and multiple bespoke systems including Civica APP (Civica CX) and webstaff.
Committed and enthusiastic team worker with the ability to stay calm under pressure, and balance competing demands.
Demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities in both employment and service delivery
**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
