**About The Role**:
We are a a growing independent veterinary team in the UK seeking a HR Assistant to support our HR Manager in the administration and control of Human Resources within the surgeries at 40 locations in the UK.

As a HR Assistant with a professional outlook on organisation and acceptable policy control within a large company, we would expect you to behave in the utmost confidence at all times.

You will take responsibility for supporting all human resource related activities, and with direct support to the HR Manager.

The duties will be varied and consistent with those of an HR generalist.

They are likely to include:

- The provision of advice and counsel to employees on HR queries and employee relation matters including disciplinary/grievance handling.
- Liaison with our Professional HR Advisors before acting on the companies behalf.
- Responsibility for full HR compliance; drafting employment contracts, developing or updating employment and personnel policies, programmes, procedures and benefits
- Helping drive HR forwards and creating a high performing culture.
- Bespoke HR projects.
- Helping maintain records, compiling statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals, holiday allowance records and absenteeism rates.
- Issuing and supervising contract issue with training materials and completion ahead of starting.
- Compiling payroll data for overtime with the Bright HR system to be sent for sign off to the Operations Director.
- Gaining references for those members of staff joining the company.
- Broad experience in a generalist HR role, and a proven track record of 3 years or more
- Demonstrable ER experience and an aptitude for handling sensitive and confidential situations.
- Strong knowledge of disciplinary and management procedures for best outcome for the company.
- Ability to resolve associate issues quickly and efficiently.
- Familiarity with current UK employment laws
- Excellent presentation skills.
- An HR project mindset, and the ability to work to deadlines with attention to detail.
- A positive, upbeat mindset and the ability to represent a positive and professional image.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Ability to use Bright HR is a strong advantage.
