**Head of Credit**
LMA Recruitment has collaborated with a well-known asset finance specialist; our client provides funding to small and medium size businesses and HNW individuals across the UK.
The Head of Credit will be responsible overseeing and managing all aspects of finance and block discounting as well as underwriting, collections and portfolio management. The HOC will be responsible for establishing robust processes and control measures whileensuring development and management of strategic projects encouraging business diversity and long-term performance.
**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the underwriting function and adherence to Credit Policy for the asset finance and block discounting business.
- Underwriting specific transactions and credit facilities within policy and delegated authority framework
- Managing the credit team to achieve objectives, coaching all direct reports, including all aspects of performance management, conduct, sickness management and appraisals
- Managing and running the collections department to ensure potential losses are mínimal and within budgeted expectations
- Ensure the highest levels of customer service quality and competency maintained to minimise risk and costs.
- Responsible for the risk function including reporting, evaluating the credit and risk position and to provide reports on business performance, profitability and growth
- Providing timely production of management information and safeguarding the continued development of quality management information to support decision-making

**Person Specification**
- Sound knowledge of AML/CTF regulations
- Asset finance industry specific knowledge
- Extensive underwriting and credit decision making experience
- Detailed understanding of unregulated asset finance transactions and Consumer Credit Act exemption rules
- Leadership experience at both team and senior management level
- Understanding of collection management strategies and insolvency procedures
