**The purpose of your role**

Under the supervision of the Senior Events and Marketing Manager and in collaboration with key members of the Communication and Policy department and wider organisation, to coordinate all marketing activities and provide marketing expertise for the event programme. This will include conferences, lectures, workshops, online events, and other ad-hoc events, with the aim to raise awareness of the programme amongst key audiences and ensure high take-up.

Meeting event attendance targets, which you will agree on a yearly basis.

Developing innovative and exciting ideas for campaign to successfully hit ticket sale targets for the Annual Conference, which you will agree on a yearly basis.

Delivery of your own objectives (which you’ll agree with your manager)

Delivering departmental objectives and strategy

**What you’re responsible for**
- To lead and coordinate all marketing activity for the events programme within agreed budgets and to agreed targets. Create effective marketing plans and build awareness / high delegate numbers through organic social posts, paid advertising, newsletters, print campaigns and other suitable marketing avenues. Measure and report on marketing effectiveness and ROI.
- To lead and be accountable for all marketing for the conference, including generating marketing ideas and building a strong campaign to reach income and delegate targets.
- To develop and progress a public programme of events, working with internal and external stakeholders across London and Liverpool, with the support of the Marketing and Events assistant
- To manage the design and production of engaging marketing materials and assets, working with relevant internal staff and external agencies.
- To develop and progress Player, working with relevant internal staff and external stakeholders and agencies. Improve functionality and generate ideas for content that engages the membership.
- To continuously innovate and develop the commercial aspects of our marketing and events offering to increase profitability and engagement with our 40,000 members.
- To manage the marketing and event assistant, providing them with day-to-day support and guidance.
- To generate ideas for video content that will engage the membership and wider healthcare community. To lead on the organisation and filming of these projects.
- To deputise the Senior Marketing and Events manager and support with writing and presenting reports and presentations for boards, committees and executive leadership team as required and to instigate follow up action.
- To work closely with other departments to explore and fully utilise all marketing channels.
- To work closely with and be the main point of contact for the department’s communications account manager, identifying opportunities for education products within communication channels.
- To act as the department’s brand and house-style champion, attending wide meetings and training as necessary, sharing information to the wider department and ensuring that brand guidelines are adhered to across the department.
- To explore and develop relationships with third parties, such as medical publications, online portals, royal colleges or societies, who may assist with the marketing of events, including joint events.
- To keep up to date with market trends and developments and to undertake market research to feed into marketing strategy and event planning.
- To provide on-site assistance at events and assistance with event preparation in the run-up to events, as and when necessary.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably expected, and which are commensurate with the level of the post.

**Your experience includes**

Demonstrable record of success in a marketing co-ordinator role.

Demonstrable record of maximising ticket sales for events or conferencing.

Building and developing marketing communication plans for multiple events and audiences.

Being able to tackle challenges constructively and finding creative ways to solve problems.

**Essential skills**
- Experience of building and delivering marketing plans for events.
- Good knowledge of the Marketing mix and how it can be implemented.
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills, including tact and assertiveness, and the ability to communicate at all levels in a complex environment.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and co-ordinate the activities of staff and contributors at all levels both internally and externally.

**Desirable skills**
- Good knowledge of UK health and social care sector.
- Demonstrable understanding of the charitable and/or policy sector
- Good knowledge of Digital marketing as well as direct.
- Experience using a CRM system, Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.

**Qualifications**
- GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths at Grade C or above
- Evidence of professional training in marketing
- Recognised Degree level qualification or equivalent experie
