**Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprentice**:
**Mayfield Medical Group**:

- 37.5 hours per week

**Working week**:37.5 per week (Monday to Friday 8:30-6pm with one half day a week - TBC whether this is AM or PM half day).

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

**Role and responsibilities**:

- To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
- To work in accordance of written protocols
- Photocopy as requested
- Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team
- Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address
- Dealing with patient queries
- Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
- Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
- Cancelling appointments when necessary
- Deal with home visit requests
- Organise E-referral appointments (hospital referrals)
- Registrations of new patients - computer data entry and medical records.
- Process patients change of address - computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.
- Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Read coding
- Keep up to date accurate records
- Answer and process incoming telephone calls

- Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense
- Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities
- Ability to work as part of an integrated multi - skilled team
- Able to work under pressure
- Ability to self motivate
- Able to use own initiative
