**Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.**
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer to work across two of our services: Next Steps and Craven Mount. Craven Mount is a service for people who have experienced homelessness, including rough sleeping, and Next Steps service provides supports for individuals who may have complex and multiple needs - people who have experience g homelessness, rough sleeping, drugs or alcohol use and poor mental health.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and based in Halifax.
**The role**
As a Housing Officer, you will undertake housing management duties including tenancy enforcement action, rent collection and recording, organising repairs and maintenance and minimising voids. You will also provide support, information, guidance and practical assistance to tenants on housing management related tasks. Finally, you will develop joint working relationships with other professionals and agencies as appropriate to the needs of the people we work with, including sharing of relevant information, in order to review housing and support needs and manage any identified risk.

**What we are looking for**
- Experiencing working in a housing environment providing housing and tenancy related support
- Knowledge of housing management legislation, policies and procedures including eviction proceedings
- Knowledge of the welfare benefits system
- Evidence of vocational training and/or professional development in relevant skills for the post (e.g. housing management, mental health, welfare benefits, domestic violence, child protection)
- IT Skills including the use of Microsoft Office products and housing management software
- Valid driving licence and use of a car to use for work purposes
- Enhanced DBS
**What Horton offers in return?**
