Junior Garment Technologist

**Job title**: Production assistant /Junior Garment Technologist**

**Location**: Watford

As Junior Garment Technologist / Garment technologist you will be responsible for ensuring production samples conform to the standard required for fit, make, raw materials, quality, sizing and packaging working closely with factories in china, Portugal, turkey and India.

The role requires expertise in Women's Lingerie and inner wear with a minimum of 2-3 years experience.

**Main responsibilities**
- Maintain, update and complete production technical packs.
- Maintain and agree standard measurements and record and measure against spec for all styles
- Ensure all technical specs are clear and any measurement requests are consistent with the standard measurements.
- Measure all samples to ensure they conform to the size specifications.
- Flag any discrepancies in sizes prior to fit meetings and ensure the factory is informed where appropriate.
- Plan and organise fit meetings including booking models.
- Maintaining and organising the sample racks/ boxes season wise
- Attend and run all collection, sample and pre-production fittings to ensure samples conform to the Designer’s vision and are of the correct quality.
- Record all fit comments and relay to the factories ensuring amendments are accurately reflected in future samples or production.
- Support the factories in to solve specific make or construction queries involving seasonal travel.
- Maintain consistency in sewing rules and make standards and ensure factories understand the standards required to produce for the brand.
- Request, monitor and chase all samples.
- Ensure all garments are sealed ahead of the factories starting production in line with the critical path.
- Approvals to be given on fabric qualities, Lab dips, prints.
- Request, inspect and assess pre-production, shipment samples. Flag any issues that could impact delivery.
- Manage any quality issues and faulty garments to ensure delays are kept to a minimum.

**Skills required**:

- Proficient in Microsoft office.
- Fashion related degree preferred.
- Garment Technologist with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Women's Lingerie and inner wear encompassing all product categories.
- Excellent fabric knowledge across woven and jersey
- Understanding of test reports
- fabrics including technical components and sewing techniques.
- Expertise in fitting garments and sending comments for amendments.
- Good working knowledge of pattern cutting is an advantage.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive approach with strong organisational skills.
- Able to draw technical diagrams.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
