Summary Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team this role as a Welcome & Service Assistant, plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
You'll be the friendly face of the National Trust, working in Dovedale National Nature Reserve and at Ilam Park to orientate, engage and inspire our visitors.
This role will predominately be weekends and school holidays, working as a team across both properties.
What it's like to work here White Peak Estate, including Ilam Park, Dovedale and Hamps and Manifold Valleys is situated in the spectacular setting of the Staffordshire and Derbyshire Peak District.
You'll be working in a large and passionate team of about 10 people, who work together to deliver exceptional customer service in both Dovedale National Nature Reserve and Ilam Park.
You'll report directly to the White Peak Welcome Manager who will oversee your training and development as a member of the team.
What you'll be doing As a Welcome & Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
When based at Dovedale National Nature Reserve you'll work as in a team, answering questions, queries and providing information about the area including walking routes and nature. You'll also take payments for the car park and sell self lead nature trailsto visitors.
When you are based at Ilam Park, you'll work independently from the Welcome base to greet visitors, provide information about the White Peak and ensure that our presentation standards are kept high and Ilam Park can look the best it can look. The team willkeep in contact throughout the day and support either property if called upon.
Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do. You’ll also ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent,from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.
Who we're looking for You'll need to have the following experience:
- Can demonstrate an empathetic, understanding and adaptable approach to different people’s needs, with a passion to deliver the highest standards of customer care.
- Proven experience of working to measurable targets
- Good team worker
- flexible and adaptable and willing to grow experience and skillset across several different operation aspects of the property
- Skilled listener with great people skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised and able to work with minimum supervision
